Lieutenant Colonel Katresha Michelle Bailey is a native of East Hartford, Connecticut.  In 2000, was commissioned a Second Lieutenant from Virginia State University, Petersburg, Virginia, into the Quartermaster Corps.

Lieutenant Colonel Bailey’s previous assignment was the Director, National Programs for the Soldier For Life Program, at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. Previous assignments include the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky as the 2nd Brigade Combat Team S4 and later as the 526th Brigade Support Battalion Executive Officer. She has also served on the 8th Army G4 staff, in Yongsan, Korea as the Support Operations Current Operations Chief, Maintenance Chief as Supply and Services Chief. Additionally, she served at Fort Stewart, GA in the 3rd Infantry Division as the Battalion S3 of the 87th Combat Support Battalion, Company Commander of the 135th Quartermaster Supply Company, and Assistant Battalion S3 in the 260th Quartermaster Battalion. While at Fort Carson, Colorado as the Maintenance Platoon Leader and Executive Officer in the 68th Combat Support Battalion, and Supply and Services Officer in the 43rd Area Support Group. Her first assignment was in 2nd Infantry Division in Korea, 602nd Aviation Support Battalion, as a Supply Platoon Leader.

Lieutenant Colonel Bailey’s previous operational tours include Iraq and Afghanistan, with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), 3rd Infantry Division, and the 43rd Area Support Group. 

Lieutenant Colonel Bailey is a Distinguished Military Graduate, a graduate of the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, the Logistics Captains Career Course, and the Command and General Staff College.  She holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Social Work from Virginia State University and a Masters of Arts Degree in Human Resource Management from Webster University. 

Her awards include the Bronze Star Medal (1OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (3OLC), Army Commendation Medal (2OLC), Army Achievement Medal (3OLC), Meritorious Unit Citation, Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Service Medal, and the Army Staff Badge. Her decorations include the Combat Action Badge, Parachutist and Air Assault Badge.

Lieutenant Colonel Bailey is married to Major Marcus Bailey Sr. They have two sons Marcus Jr., Kaden, and a daughter Amaya.
