Major Howard Falls Jr. is a native of Dallas Texas and was commissioned into the Field Artillery Branch in 2007. Major Falls has served in numerous leadership positions throughout his career with multiple tours to Afghanistan and Korea.
Major Falls served as the Executive Officer within the 434th Field Artillery Brigade and volunteered for deployment with the 75th Fires Brigade to Afghanistan, where he served as the Executive Officer for Charlie Battery, 1-17th Field Artillery Regiment. He subsequently assumed Battery Command for Charlie Battery in November 2010 until March 2012. Major Falls completed the Field Artillery Captain’s Career Course in October 2012 and later assigned to 162nd Infantry Brigade in Fort Polk LA, where he served his second company command, this time serving as the 162nd INF BDE 4th Battalion, HHC Company Commander. Upon his second successful command, MAJ Falls deployed to Afghanistan with the 2nd BCT 101st ABN, as a Fires Advisor in the 201st Corps OCC-R. In 2015 Major Falls was assigned to the United States Recruiting Command, serving as a Battalion Operations Officer and Executive Officer for the Columbia Recruiting Battalion.
Major Falls served on an operational deployment to South Korea, where he served as the Deputy Chief, Plans and Operation for the 3rd Battlefield Coordination Detachment. The second year serving as the Battalion Executive Officer for 210th Field Artillery BDE, 2nd Infantry Division and later as the Secretary of the General Staff for, 8TH United States Army. Following this assignment, he was assigned to Washington, D.C., where he is currently serving as a Fellow with the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security.
Major Falls holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education from Prairie View A&M University, and a Master of Art degree in Leadership & Management from Webster University. Additionally, he holds a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Studies from the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill. His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, and the Combat Action Badge.
MAJ Howard Falls is married to the former Carmen Terrell, they have four boys, Kennedy, Karter, Howard B. and Hudsyn.
